Arlington Children & Nature Network

Arlington CANN is an alliance of agencies, organizations, individuals and businesses dedicated to connecting Arlington children to nature

by facilitating the use of outdoor spaces in Arlington by children of all ages;
by fostering increased opportunities and time for unstructured play;
by working to make more safe, secure, accessible and appealing places for outdoor play; and
by raising awareness in our community about the consequences of "nature deficit disorder."

The Touch the Earth Celebration on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Potomac Overlook Regional Park featured the Arlington CANN proclamation as well as kid-friendly outdoor activities, a Walkabout of Potomac Overlook Park, and a tour of the Energerium. See the video.

The Arlington Children and Nature Network (CANN) is proud to be a grassroots campaign of the Children & Nature Network, a network of regional efforts that supports and accelerates the growth of a children and nature movement - some call it Leave No Child Inside - providing a forum for collaboration and reversing the trends of nature deficit disorder. C&NN was created to encourage and support the people and organizations working worldwide to reconnect children with nature. C&NN provides access to the latest news and research in the field and a peer-to-peer network of researchers and individuals, educators and organizations dedicated to children's health and well-being.
